First Communion
The second grade is the typical age for children preparing for their First Holy Confession and First Holy Communion. In order to enter the Faith Formation Program for preparation for First Holy confession and First Holy Communion, your child would need have been in the First Grade Faith Formation Program. Confirmation
The eighth grade is the typical age for children preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. In order to enter the Faith Formation Program for preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, your child would need to have been in the Seventh Grade Faith Formation Program. The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
Becoming a Catholic is a spiritual journey of preparation, study and prayer called the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). Through OCIA, an adult becomes a fully participating member of the Catholic Church – receiving the sacraments of initiation (baptism, first Holy Communion and confirmation). It consists of four learning periods, with the goal being welcomed into full communion with the Church and inclusion in the life of the faith community.
