After submitting the initial Wedding Inquiry, a member of our staff will review and contact you to discuss possible dates, answer any questions you may have about Basilica policies, and email a Fee Schedule for your wedding.
After a date has been tentatively agreed upon, the couple may place the date on a two week hold. This time period gives the couple ample opportunity to discuss fees, pre-cana preparation, secure celebrant, reception venues, etc., in order to make sure that the Basilica of Saint Lawrence is the right choice for their wedding. Requesting a two week hold does not entail any financial obligation.
Because the Basilica receives wedding inquiries almost on a daily basis, this scheduling procedure which operates on a first come, first serve basis is the fairest way to serve all of the couples who inquire.
Due to the high demand for weddings at the Basilica we may remove any date on hold that exceeds the two week deadline without any notice to the couple if they have not contacted us for an extension of time, to confirm their date, or to cancel. However, we prefer that the couple email or call us if they are canceling their hold so there is no confusion. If you determine that the Basilica is not a good fit for your wedding, please be considerate of other couples by calling or emailing the parish office to release the date you have placed on hold.
